KYKNOS S.A. turns green
1,100 tons of carbon dioxide less with the contribution of KYKNOS S.A.
KYKNOS S.A., one of the oldest canneries in operation in Greece and Europe with 105 years of history, continues dynamically and moves forward. With the primary objective of protecting the environment, it installed a new photovoltaic power station, with a total power of 1MWp, on the roofs of its plant in Savalia, Ilia.
The project was built by MGD Energy SA. All work was done on the basis of international standards for the construction of photovoltaic plants, in accordance with EN 62446, thus ensuring all the necessary safety and health conditions and without creating the slightest problem in the production process of the KYKNOS S.A. plant.
KYKNOS S.A. with this investment prevents each year the release of 1,100 tons of carbon dioxide related to energy from fossil fuels. To understand the value of this investment, it is sufficient to consider that it takes more than 100,000 trees to absorb the release of such a quantity of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
KYKNOS S.A. chooses greens and this is just the beginning. The investment is the first of a series of investments planned by KYKNOS S.A. and is a landmark project that demonstrates in practice the interest of KYKNOS S.A. in environmental protection and energy-saving demonstrating the company's strategic commitment to sustainable development and sustainability according to the ethos, values, quality and history of KYKNOS S.A.
