Greece 2.0 - National Recovery and Resilience Plan

INNOVATION AND GREEN TRANSITION IN THE PROCESSING OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS

The investment project titled “CAPACITY EXPANSION OF THE EXISTING TOMATO PROCESSING UNIT”, within the framework of the action “INNOVATION AND GREEN TRANSITION IN THE PROCESSING OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS” of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with a total budget of €6,500,000.00, includes:

  1. 1. Concentrator system
  2. 2. Pre-concentrator system
  3. 3. Homogenizer for lightly concentrated tomato juice
  4. 4. Aseptic processing line
  5. 5. Fully integrated aseptic processing line with aseptic filling head
  6. 6. Next-generation carton packaging line
  7. 7. Robotic system for automatic palletizing of carton trays
  8. 8. Supporting electrical and electromechanical installations for the installation of pre concentrator system

The investment is implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

The project focuses on the comprehensive upgrade of the production process through the following pillars:

  • Production Capacity Upgrade & Energy Efficiency: Installation of an advanced concentration and pre-concentration system, optimizing raw material processing while reducing the energy footprint per unit of product.
  • Innovation in Aseptic Processing: Integration of a fully automated aseptic line equipped with a state-of-the-art filling head and homogenizer, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety.
  • Digital Transformation & Automation: Adoption of next-generation packaging systems and installation of a robotic palletizing system, enhancing operational efficiency and responsiveness to market demand.
  • Supporting Infrastructure: Comprehensive electrical and mechanical installations supporting the new technological equipment, ensuring operational continuity and plant safety.

Upon completion, the investment is expected to significantly enhance the company’s production capabilities, strengthen its competitive position, and contribute to the green and digital transition of the agri-food sector in Greece.
