Ingredients
700 - 800g ground beef (chuck roll, chuck, etc.)
1 onion (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (melted)
¾ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg (optional)
1 tbsp Ketchup KYKNOS
1 tbsp rice vinegar or white wine
A little dry oregano or thyme
Olive oil
Salt, freshly ground pepper
For serving
Pickled or caramelized onions
4-6 slices tomato
4-6 lettuce leaves
4-6 slices cheddar cheese
4-6 tbsps. ketchup KYKNOS
A little mayonnaise
A little mustard (optional)
4-6 burger buns
Preparation
Heat a little olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic. Pour the ground beef in a deep bowl, add the sauteed onion - garlic and all the other ingredients and season with salt and pepper. Knead the ground beef to mix all the ingredients well. Cover and leave for ½ to 1 hour in the refrigerator. Shape into 4 or 6 burgers. Bake them on a hot grill or in a cast iron pan.
Open the buns in the middle and bake them a little in a pan. Spread a little Ketchup KYKNOS or mustard on the bottom bun and a little mayonnaise on the upper bun. Place the lettuce on the bottom bun, the burger, cheese, tomato and onions on top. Pour over Ketchup KYKNOS and cover with the top bun. Serve immediately with French fries and pickles.
