Olive Pie (ladenia) with salami

A traditional pie, originated in Milos and Kimolos islands, that is in a way similar to pizza. The secret of this recipe is in the dough; The rest of the ingredients can be selected according to your taste and your idea of the perfect ... Greek pizza!

Baking time: 45΄minutes

Ingredients for 6 persons

  • 500gr. flour for all uses (you might need a slightly larger quantity)
  • 250gr. KYKNOS Cherry tomatoes in tomato juice
  • 3 big onions
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano (optionally)
  • 2 sachets dry yeast
  • 100gr. finely chopped Salami (we suggest the one from Lefkada island)

Preparation
Mix the flour, the yeast and a pinch of salt in a bowl, gradually adding some lukewarm water and stirring until it becomes a smooth dough. Cover the bowl with a towel and leave it in a warm place until doubled in volume. In the meanwhile, oil a baking pan and when the dough is ready, place it inside in a way that the whole of the pan is covered. Spread the cherry tomatoes, the onions, the oregano and add the chopped salami all over the dough surface. Pour the olive oil over it and then bake the pie at 180° C degrees for 45 minutes. After about 20 minutes, make sure the surface has not already cooked through - and if so, cover with foil.

Tip
In this version of the "ladenia" pie, you can also add some smoked paprika, for a more sophisticated taste.
